CNTA Starts Platinum 5-Star Hotel Rank

The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) has formally launched a new deluxe hotel rank called Platinum 5-Star.

Beijing's China Grand Hotel, Shanghai's Portman Ritz-Carlton, Garden Hotel Guangzhou and Shandong Hotel Jinan have been included as the first batch of hotels under the trial project.

To meet the developing trends of the hotel market, CNTA recently made three amendments to the star-grade hotel standard in China. The highlight of these changes was to start a superior grade Platinum 5-Star above the current 5-star.

因为 Renaissance Hotel 是 Marriott International 下属的三十多家连锁酒店品牌中的一个，所以在引进的时候按照母公司的名称被音译为万丽酒店，而不是按子品牌 Renaissance 进行翻译的。
